Instagram Rules for Verified Accounts

​So you’ve managed to cross over to the other side of Instagram stardom and have now been declared “Verified”. Getting the acclaimed blue tick is one thing, but there are rules to keeping it. Getting verified on many occasions does take a lot of time, energy and in some instances even money. After being verified there are still guidelines that have to be maintained in order to be able to utilize the advantages that motivated the drive to get verified. The platform has to cater to the interest of all its clients. The platform also has to maintain its legal obligations to safeguard itself and its users. Verified clients are given the blue tick as a mark of authenticity and a guarantee by the owners of the site that the account owner has been vouched at the highest level.

 Some owners of accounts may at some point become complacent when compared to the effort they put into becoming owners of verified accounts. To maintain the rules of the platform there are certain breaches of the arrangement that may see persons losing their “Verified” status.

Changing the Username of your Verified Account
The Username that is submitted to Instagram was a part of the information that was used to assess and eventually grant the account holder the verified status. Once you make changes to the account without the knowledge of the company it is seen as a breach in the agreement. Any deviation from what was confirmed as your personal information may now be considered as misleading information once it has been changed without authorization.

Transferring your Verification to another Account
The Blue Tick is yours and yours alone! If you attempt to reassign your verification to another account then this is one of the ways that can cause for you to lose that status. The account that is being used and has acquired the coveted category is the one that was legally granted the status. If a transfer is done to another account, Instagram can no longer confirm that you are the person who you say you are nor can they verify the content that has been permitted by them. 

Violating the Terms of Policy
When verification is granted to you by the platform there are certain requirements that you are expected to uphold. It is a binding agreement between both parties that share a common understanding as to what kind of information can be shared and utilized. These may include but not limited to, how followers personal information can be used, the type of content submitted and if follower information can be shared and for what reasons. This is classified as the company’s Terms of Policy and is in place to safeguard users of the platform and the company that owns it. Any breach of this agreement will see action taken against the verified account holder that my either see the blue tick status lost or even the account being deleted.
It would be reasonably expected that any submission made to Instagram for verification has to come with a few rules and procedures. This is not specific to “Verified” Instagram accounts as general users have to maintain the same regulatory standard. A verified account however exposes the owners if the company to a more direct risk of legal problems. This is due to the fact that based on validation from the company itself shown by a visible blue tick, they have now told the online world that your account is above average and is a trusted source to engage with. 
The blue tick is hard to come by; follow the rules and keep it moving.
